We are deeply moved and honoured by the feature in Effilee \u2013 one of Germany\u2019s most renowned magazines dedicated to food and wine \u2013 written by wine journalist Sebastian Bordth\u00e4user and photographed by Myrto Papadopoulou.<\/p>

The article, titled \u201cHarz, aberherzlich\u201d, is a reflection on how science, sustainability, and cultural heritage can coexist to redefine a historic wine.<\/p>

In his vivid narrative, Bordth\u00e4user follows Eleni Kechri and the 1979WINES team from the heart of Goumenissa to the pine-covered hills of Halkidiki, revealing a world where research meets the history of Greek wine \u2013 and where resin, long misunderstood, emerges as the element that redefines Retsina<\/p>

\u201cWhat if we suddenly took the much-maligned concept of Retsina seriously?
What if we treated it with the same respect as a Grand Cru?\u201d \u2014 Effilee<\/p>

Through the article, Bordth\u00e4user describes how Eleni\u2019s scientific research on pine resin opened a new path, unveiling the \u201cforest terroir\u201d and the remarkable complexity of Retsina\u2019s own terroir.
Each origin, each drop of resin, becomes part of the wine\u2019s identity.<\/p>

\u201cIt\u2019s not only about the purity of the resin,\u201d [\u2026] \u201cbut also about its origin.\u201d
Thus was born the concept of the double terroir \u2014 a Retsina defined not only by the provenance of its grapes but also by the provenance of its resin. \u2014 Effilee<\/p>
